The supper dish seems to be the homing beacon I need for our pets. Good post!
Lyn: This is such wonderful information to have. I want as many people to have this info as possible, so I'm posting and "suggesting". I'm helping to spread the word! Thanks Lyn!

A couple of months ago we lost one of our dogs and my son used some internet lost pet site, not sure which. Didn't get any response. Think maybe not enough people know about it to make it successful, YET. Called the dog officer and someone 5 miles away found her and he call the dog officer. Bingo be were connected.
A 17 year noticed her hanging around his house, see they can see!
Can't imagine losing one of my dogs... We just had an event yesterday in our town.. Paws for a Cause... raising money for the SPCA in our area. Was great.. I was happy to be a part of it.
Hi Lyn, What a great site, thanks for the info. Having a lost pet is just torture!
Darren & Mary: I just couldn't imagine that happening. Remember the site for others that might need it.
Gene: Thanks, pass it along to help others who have lost their pets.
My dad was keeping my dogs for me a few weeks ago. One ran off as soon as dad went to let him out of the car and didn't come back for 6 days, just in time for me to pick him up. I'll keep this site in mind if I ever lose (or find!) another one.
Lyn -Thanks for the site. It is always nice to have something that will help us find FIDO. I have three FIDOS and I hope I never have to utilize this site but I now know it is there.
I have many people entrenched with FIDOS so I will pass it on.
Ken: Your welcome. Pass it along.
As a former animal rescue worker, I can tell you that the very best part of any day was when we could reunite a dog with his or her human. The joy on both faces is immeasurable.
I don't belong to that organization any more, but several months ago my son found a dog laying by the side of the road, exhausted. Of course he brought it to me.
After calling everyone I knew in the neighborhood I took photos and started knocking on doors. When I got to the local pub (a little bar out in the country) and asked if I could put up my flyer, someone shooting pool came over to see the photo and said "That's my buddy's dog! He's been looking all over for him."
A couple of hours later I was back at the bar with the dog, meeting a very happy man and his young son.
I told them they might want to consider having that guy "fixed" so he wouldn't wander so far from home again.
As we have just had the 5 year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and now this week we remember 5 yrs ago Hurricane Rita, it caused awareness with pets. I remember passing so many pet resuce vans on the road as they rescued those sweet animals left behind. We had a pet shelter here that housed the lost animals and a local vet volunteered to treat the dogs. I cant imagine leaving your pet behind, now there is alot more chips being inserted because of that experience.
