BARTLETT SPONSORS ABRAHAM LINCOLN TOUR

Bartlett will truly be at the heart of Lincoln-country, when the "Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made in America" Bicentennial Tour stops at 228 S. Main Street from September 16 to 19. The Lincoln Bicentennial Tour is a mobile museum exhibit developed by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois to celebrate Lincoln's 200th birthday on February 12, 2009. The exhibit will travel the United States over the next two years inspiring visitors with the story of Lincoln's life and accomplishments.
The Village's Bartlett History Museum will sponsor the tour's stop in Bartlett, which currently is one of only 13 cities in Illinois to host the event. The exhibit is free to the public and hours are: Tuesday, 9/16, noon to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, 9/17 & Thursday, 9/18, 11a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Friday, 9/19, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The only exhibit of its type in the country, the mobile museum uses an engaging mix of interactive elements, graphics, documents and artifacts inside a 53-foot long, double expandable trailer to examine Lincoln's life, from his poor beginnings to his ascension to the presidency and his assassination.
